Mayor Daniel M. Olson – Proven Leadership for Santaquin

I’m Daniel M. Olson, a lifelong resident of Santaquin, where my wife Cauleen and I raised five children and now enjoy 20 grandchildren. I retired in 2020 as Vice President of Operations at GlobalSim, Inc. and have spent decades serving our city.

My public service includes:

40 years as a Santaquin firefighter
City Council member and Mayor (1980–1985), including during the flood years
Member of Planning & Zoning and the bio-membrane water treatment selection committee
Elected again as Mayor in 2021, serving through 2025

Key Accomplishments This Term (2021–2025)

Prospector View Mountain Bike Park: Proposed and launched in 2025, now a popular, grant-supported community asset.
Water Security: Worked with CUP to complete a vital water project, set to go live by 2026.
Business Development: Met with over 100 businesses to encourage growth and boost city resources.
Canyon Restoration: Secured funding and oversaw full road and streambank repair from the lower gate to Tinney Flats (completed June 2025).
Disaster Protection: Negotiated land for debris basins without using taxpayer dollars.
Main Street & I-15 Improvements: Advanced projects including the Main Street upgrade and future I-15 interchange, moving up the timeline from 30 years out.
Santaquin Peaks Industrial Park: Launched a self-funded, city-owned industrial park with active development and no tax dollars used.
Library & Education Center: Secured nearly $500K to design and plan the facility’s interior—moving closer to completion.
Future Cemetery: Purchased 15.5 acres for a new city cemetery after a three-year search.

Expanding the mountain bike park
Attracting businesses and grants
Advocating for key infrastructure
Supporting police, fire, EMS, and all city services
Ensuring smart, sustainable growth
