NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

RE: Adoption of Wildland-Urban Interface Map

HEARING TIME AND LOCATION
Notice is hereby given that the Santaquin City Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing at approximately 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The in-person meeting will be viewable online. The meeting will be held in person at the Council Chambers 110 S. Center Street Santaquin, UT 84655.

THE PROPOSAL
The State of Utah is requiring that cities adopt a Wildland-Urban Interface map by December 31st, 2026. This map will delineate the boundaries of the Wildland-Urban Interface area in Santaquin City. The associated code will require development proposals to acknowledge fire hazard dangers due to proximity to natural areas of fire potential and concern and shall be subject to development and construction requirements, thereof.

HEARING PURPOSE
The hearing is an open meeting in which residents will have the right and opportunity to voice concerns or ask questions about the proposal. Feedback from residents may be used to help mitigate possible impacts. This is the only public hearing which will be held on this request.

This notice is in accordance with Santaquin City Code, §10.68.110. If notice given under this Title is not challenged in written form to the City's Appeal Authority within 30 days after the meeting or action for which notice is given, the notice is considered adequate and proper. Furthermore, if no challenge or protest is filed within 30 days after the meeting or action for which notice was given, any defect in the notice shall not affect or invalidate any hearing or action by the Planning Commission or City Council.
