NOTICE CERTIFICATION OF PETITION FOR ANNEXATION (CEMETERY 2 ANNEXATION)

I, Amalie R. Ottley, the duly appointed and acting City Recorder for Santaquin City, Utah County, State of Utah, do hereby confirm that on April 14, 2025 a petition for annexation was filed with the Santaquin City Recorder for the purpose of annexing 15.37 acres of land into Santaquin City.

The area proposed for annexation is located at approximately 6149 W. 14400 S., Utah County, Utah, (Utah County) as identified on the enclosed map. Parcel #32:017:0256 is owned by Santaquin City.

The petition of annexation is available for inspection at the Santaquin City Offices located at 110 S. Center St., Santaquin. The City of Santaquin may grant the petition and annex the area described in the petition, unless within the time required under Subsection 10-2- 407(2)(a)(i), a written protest to the annexation petition is filed with the Utah County Commission and a copy of the protest delivered to the city recorder.

A protest to the annexation petition may be filed by the legislative body or governing board of an affected entity, or “an owner of rural real property” according to UCA 10-2-407.

Protests shall be filed with the Utah County Boundary Commission, ATTN: Kris Poulson, Chair, 100 E Center St. #1100, Provo, UT 84606 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays. A copy of the protest must also be delivered to the Santaquin City Recorder’s Office, 110 S. Center Street, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Friday, excluding holidays.

If no protests are filed by the deadline of June 13, 2025, staff will prepare a recommendation, and a public hearing will be scheduled at a future date before the City Council to consider approving the annexation.
